The Farm
Ash Tree Farm is 70 acres of beautiful rolling Devon countryside.
It is located 2 miles from the popular holiday town of Dartmouth
andthe coast.
The farm has been run in an environmentally friendly way under an `Environmental Stewardship Scheme` for the past 10 years and there are plans for this to continue into the future.
Meadows and pastures, low-input arable fields, wide, uncultivated field margins, naturally growing hedgerows, a small copse and 20 acres of bluebell woods all contribute to the farm`s varied wildlife habitats.
Buzzards and Ravens, Hares, Badgers and Foxes, Skylarks and the Devon rarity - the Cirl Bunting, are some of the creatures which are resident on the farm.
A prehistoric settlement site, probably Bronze Age, has been discovered on the farm by the DCC Archaeology Department. This site covers an area of about 5 acres and is similar in layout to `Grimspound` on Dartmoor. This site is now protected but there are plans to make it accessible to visitors to the farm, in the near future.
